Situated at the foothills of himalayas, corbet National Park is India's oldest Tiger Reserve. The National park has got a wide range of habitate with the altitude of of 400 m to 1200 m. The forest is the mixtures of plains and sub himalayans habitats. The primary forest is Sal. The life line of the National park is Ramganga Resivior. The avi-fauna of Corbet region is around 400 species and is the probably one of the best places for birding in India. The best time to visit Corbet Ntaional park is from late november to february. Although summer also offers a good birding. Common birds during summers are Indian Pitta, Rosymini white, Organge headed thrush, blue throated blue fly catcher, cuckoos, pale footed bush warbler.
Atleast 5 to 6 das birding trip is recommended at Corbet areas. Total area of national park is 1200 sq. kms having habitats likes grass lands, sal forest, sub himalayan forest, and Ramganga Resivior which is an excellent place for water birds and crocodials. Corbet is best known for its tigersand is an excellent forest for large mammals like Spotted deer, samber, wild boar, hog deer, barking deer, tiger, leopard, big cats, rhesus macaques, grey langur, common indian mongoose, jackle, yellow throated martin jungle & leopard cats, masked palm civtes, dhole,black napped hare, sloth bear, goral, muggers, gharials and many more ...
