Situated in Kamou region of western himalayas, Nainital is located at the north east of Delhi. Its a very famous Summer Tourist station for Indian Travellers. During Summer this place is full of domestic tourist. Nainital is very easily connectec from Corbet National Park and is one of the must birding destination. The altitude of Nainital is 1940 m and offers a good chance for himalayan avi-fauna. Birding areas are lakes, garden, scrubs and short treks around the town. Birding areas around Nainital Moongli Valley---- Located at the distance of 12 kms from Nainital, which is the excellent birding destination, having woodlands, fields and stream vegitation. Around this valley you can spot Creasted Goshawk, long legged buzzard, mountain hak eagle, cresent serpent eagles, black francolin, blue beared bee eater, blue throated barbet, euriasian crag, Nepal house martin, bronzed drongo, grey treepie, bar winged flycatcher, blacke crested & ashy bulbul, white creasted laughing, red billed leiothrix, blue winged minla, whiskered yuhina, red throated, rufous gorgeted, slaty fantails, hill prinia, fine breasted flowerpecker, green tailed & black throated sun bird and many more.. Sat Tal ---- Sattal means "Seven lakes" which is very famous among the domestic travellers and provides an excellent mid altitude habitat for birds. The altitude of this areas varies from 1300 m to 1450 m. Following birds can be spotted in this region Ashy primnia, common stonechat, paddyfield Apipit, black throated & baya weaver and creasted and chestnut eared bunting, Himalayan griffons, gtreat barbet, maroon oriole, long tailed Minivet, Brown eared and Black Bulbuls, white brown scimitarbabbler, scaly breasted wren babbler, bronzed drongo, grey treepie, bar winged flycatcher, black crested & ashy bulbul, white creasted laughing and many more....
