Join IBT's tour leader " Claudio Koller " to some of the best birding sites in Northern India. IBT Invites you to join of Jan, 2008 Northern India Birding trip. This trip is a combination of extensive birding with Journeys to the curtural heritage of India, we will visit Villages of Rajasthan, One of the India's best tiger territory at Corbett National park , The Chambal river which is known for its Highest population of " Gharial " . The trip extends to the period of 14 days. the trip is designed to take to the Memorable tour across Northern India. During the trip you will see more than 400 species of birds which Includes endemics, migrants & Local birds.

Destinations : Delhi / Jaisalmer / Desert National Park / Jaipur / Chambal River sanctuary / Agra / Corbett National park.
Date : 13th Jan, 2008.
Activities : Birding , Wildlife Safari , Village walks , River cruise, Jungle walks, Visit to Taj Mahal , Camping.

01st day:
Arrive at Delhi, meet our team at Airport & transfer to Hotel. After wash & change we will have short trip to Yamuna River;Okhla Barrage at Yamuna river offers excellent birding during winters and migiratory seasons. Its a great habitat for large number of water birds and is reletavily undisturbed. ( Click here to check the birding at Okhla Barrage ). Evening transfer to Domestic airport to board flight to Jaisalmer. Overnight Hotel at Jaisalmer.

02nd day:
Take early breakfast at Hotel & start your birding trip around Jaisalmer, after lunch we will drive to Fossil park which is 17 kms from Jaisalmer.( Most important target bird of this day is Plain leaf warbler ). Evening drive back to Jaisalmer. Overnight Hotel.

03rd to 05th day:
Drive to Desert National park, DNP is mainly semi desert with half sand dunes having low bushes and grasses, Its a great habitat to spot several desert species . (Targeted species for these days is Indian Bustard, Stolitchkas Bush Chat ) we will spend four days staying inside the Desert national park staying in tents our forest guesthouse. 06th Day :
Fullday birding at DNP & evening transfer to railway station to board train to Jaipur. Overnight train.

07th day:
Morning arrival at Jaipur, we will take breakfast , soon after breakfast we will start our birding in JaiVpur itself, the main target birds of this day are White-naped Tit, Spotted Creeper. Evening at leisure at Jaipur. we will spend evening is exploring the capital city of Rajasthan. Overnight Hotel.

08th day:
On this day we will have a early breakfast & drive to Sambar salt lake which is listed as Ramsar site. We will do fullday birding at Sambar lake. Click here to for birding info of Sambar salt lake. After sun set we will drive back to Jaipur. Overnight hotel at Jaipur.

09th day:
After early breakfast we will drive for 3 hrs to Chambal River Sanctuary, On Arrival check In the lodge, after breakfast we will explore the local areas. Overnight Lodge.

10th day:
After morning tea & coffee we will take boat cruise in Chambal river which a excellent birding site with most important targeted bird that is Indian Skimmer. During our river cruise we have great change to spot Gangetic Dolphins, Marsh crocodiles & Most Important Gharials. After river cruise head back to Lodge to have breakfast & drive to Delhi Via Agra. will have lunch at Agra & visit world famous " Taj Mahal ", Late afternoon we will start our drive to Delhi, Late evening we will board train to Ramnagar ( Corbett National park ). Overnight train.

11th Day:
Early Morning arrive at Ramnagar & Transfer to lodge to have breakfast, Right after breakfast we will drive for 35 kms through lovely forest road to Dhikala, which has Forest Resthouse with fantastic setting inside the Corbett national park. ( Targeted species at Corbett is Hodson's Bushchat ) Overnight Dhikala Forest rest house.

12to 13th day:
Corbett NP, staying Overnight at Dhikala.

14th day:
Have early breakfast & drive through forest road to Ramnagar. Arrive at Lodge, Have breakfast & have a short birding trip outside the Corbett National park. After sunset back to Lodge, Have early Dinner & later transfer to Railway station to board train to Delhi. Overnight train.
